It would be an honor to serve as a member of Governing Board Area 2, for the Cucamonga School District. I have lived in Rancho Cucamonga for 22 years, and for nine of them, I have been a professor at a local university, earning my Doctorate Degree in Education in 2009; and a 13-year special needs board member for a local children and adult therapy program. I grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts, and was proud of my prestigious school district. I would like to mirror that success here. My primary objective for pursuing a place on the board is to emphasize parental rights, as parents are the primary educators regarding values for their children. Our educational system should not supersede or replace a parent’s role, but rather support, build and align with the child toward confidence and success, to be future successful members of their communities. My support is with all facets of successful involvement regarding school safety, future educational readiness, transparency and accountability. I desire to place Cucamonga School District on the map with a goal for above average success for all students, because right now students are reading below grade level. I look forward to meeting the students, sharing my vision and energy with them, so they too can see their utmost potential for their future. My mantra is: Do something every day toward their success. We need new fresh ideas, and not more of the same. Thank you for your vote, so that I can begin to work hard for the district. My goal is to improve the educational outcomes for those students.
